To promote the launch of “MusicFX DJ”, Google’s newest A.I. software, we built a future-aesthetic living room in the style of “Astral Glam”. We worked directly with Google in collaboration with Jacob Collier to pull off this acid-trip of an experience and featured not only A.I. audio programs, but lightning as well.

Inspired by the colors and materials from David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust, Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element, and the magical costuming of Elton John, the Labs.Google room was a kaleidoscope of cosmic candy. For the very first time, lucky guests would be able to sync their own musical desires directly to the room itself - almost as if it had a mind of its own.
As guests demoed the new tech, the room’s reactive lighting adapted to each new user and danced playfully on the iridescent walls. Depending on the musical choices selected by MusicFX DJ, the lighting would change color, hue, and brightness to reflect the appropriate mood.
